ice berg
my gosh, you had to dig our soccer's sordid past.......like I said....ppfftt.....you can chase that bouncy ball all across that manicured lawn for all I care...and you can even fall asleep during the whole process bec it is such an exhilarating, heart-pumping, super exciting game.......
insufficient life boats
that's why we discuss this topic right now and the last days... for ice hockey it's luckily too warm and btw to chase a too small black thingy on a too smooth surface is of similar quality
lost lives
but we are not in this world cup so why include us in the discussion....besides, I'm just making some irrefutable comments like.....YOU LOST ...and hitting and shooting that black thingy requires a lot of skill and speed and balance....and sharp eyes
freeze to death
so you took over the heckler job?
...and hitting and shooting a bouncy ball on a comparatively uneven surface needs a lot of skill and speed and endurance and not to forget team spirit and overview...
cryopreservation
like your job when it's hockey season...payback time....losers...
but it's a big ball, so how hard is it to kick it? and it's soooo sloooow....and some players are just waiting, rooted to their spot....and some like the germans dozed off meanwhile (with their eyes open- and that's a real skill, I agree )
egg cells
the ball is much faster than you can run or even a hockey player can move with his assistive technology and the german players were not students,...perhaps a bit exhausted by the great job they did all the games before
egg white
oy yeah? you try moving with all that weight on skates....and that ball will never fly faster than a puck and the soccer player can only move faster than a hockey player if a cheetah is running after him.....and exhaustion from doing a great job before is not an excuse....they were just outplayed or intimidated by some of the goodlooking spanish players.......
omelette
actually I never claimed that...but if a professional soccer player shoots at you you need luck to avoid the ball and a ball is much faster than you, on skates or not...it's faster than you expect (around 95 km/h depending on shooting power and penalty up to 180 km/h)...and ice and skate makes everything fast without much effort...no big deal
fritata
but that's where control comes in (just ask any F1 driver)....and you need a lot of skill for this...otherwise it would be like bowling or curling with players as pins or stones....and it's not the same when you run and gallop and do ballet side leaps....while chasing after that bouncy ball....
fries
as in soccer... but in soccer it's not only 2D (i.e. only gliding a plain rink) but 3D, as it's a more or less rough turf and the ball bounces, flies or has a mean spin and is not moving straight...and the players have to run a lot without technical help and kick the ball without technical help...
