Yeah I saw all of them but Die Fälscher. But not of them were good enough to be in my list!

Same goes for your list.. I think that some or many of the movies you picked are overrated by the media and caused some sort of hype thats not correct.
In my opinion: the media still influences the minds of a lot of people when it comes to movies being good or bad.
You should see Die Fälsher then... maybe you will like you it..
Oh, not a cats person... then labrat was wrong about you... You should check the labcoat topic in the joke forum, two last pages, it was about "your cat"

Well, the movies in my list are there because I like them wheter they are aclaim by the critics or not! So, not really influenced by the media, or at least That is what I think.
But for example, in your list, Gran Torino, I really like Eastwood, but that movie was not good, he was the only good thing about it! So, that is a strange pick for example (but not because of the media!

But Sir LyQ is a cinephile and you can't count how many movies he has watched and critiqued so he's kind of an expert (I'm pretty sure that he's not influenced by media hype- that's for the un-initiated...

If not I would add Chungking Express, Shawshank Redeption, Amores Perros, Cinema Paradiso, 300, Bourne Trilogy, Brick, Batman, Desperado, Fargo, Bigfish, There will be blood...
And Love Actually...I dont know, I have a soft spot for that movie...and I actually think is quite good, is not one of my "guilty pleasures"
