Yeah, but I like when they use the "proper" accent! it is a part of the movie, like the proper clothes, proper location....proper accent!
The guy from Shrek had scottish accent right??

all? both in the theatre and on TV?

@ Sir LyQ: yup, he's got the scottish brogue and not bad for a non-scot (altho Lost-san, our own scottish lass shld be the judge of this) ....I remembered that he initially did it in his native canuck accent (you know, cos we had a lot of ogres and talking cats and donkeys living together with our sasquatch) but then decided to redo all the dubbing with the scottish accent and the rest is history...:P

Ahh I did not know that! Shrek with a canuck accent would be nice! :P

Yeah Herr Hob, The same in Spain, all dubbed, so no accent at all...

I read yesterday that Casey did not know "Wallace and Gromit"...what a shame! :P

and it is in cinema and TV, except small movies, where they don't have the money...on the one hand not bad as you can enjoy the film and don't have to red subtitles, on the other hand bad as you don't learn english and lot's of stuff is lost such as some wordplay, or accent and other untranslatable stuff (though in English mos people here anyway won't get it :P ).
...and I hope she don't know it....if one knows it, she or he can only like it... :P

-hobglobin-

well, here, one has the choice at least to watch either dubbed or subtitled ones...and of course, if you wanna brush up on your English, or the other foreign languages then better to watch the original and just read the captions etc...and honestly, I've never watched a complete Walrus and Vermin episode...I just hear the intro and then I start falling asleep....:P...

Yeah, now I am used to watch everything in OV and I cannot watch it dubbed! It is really much better hearing the real voices! And well, I learned my english with LOST brotha! :P
