maybe we're progressive here in Hokkaido- we don't even leave the lab when there is a fire alarm
Check
LOLOL! The thought of my white coated colleagues and me standing in the snow doing our morning exercises would crack me up! I love the twee music that accompanies them.
The thought would crack me up too...just think-frostbites but it can't really be that cold- Hokkaido, right (cold for us is -20 celsius and below) and that music can stay with you forever (better than Bach's) .....time to do the exercises, hajimashooka, Lost-san.... ( and the massacre continues.....)

In this case, it seems, being lazy would pay off better!
Look on the bright side - morning started with such a good morning exercise. If my lab were a few stories high, I would have probably lost some of my weight I have been putting from the lunch thread
But BB, don't you do the usual morning 'radio exercise'..isn't this still a tradition or have you been hiding yourself while your colleagues are doing it? Eat your lunch but do the exercise.....btw, I don't see any new pics of your lunches....
One more reason to believe that you are 'one of them'.
I am not 'one of them' BB....I'd rather watch than do the morning exercises so I can't be one of them (but, otoh I'm very polite, respectful, industrious, loyal, clean and orderly, etc etc etc plus I can make a mean sushi) oh yeah, I'm beginning to think that I'm 'one of them'

It sure isn't as cold as -20C, infact its above freezing today with rain(!) forecast, before it gets all snowy again. Still the slushy coldness does not inspire radio excercises. I'll save it for my Wii in the evening, give my neighbours something new to watch (tanoshimi!- more slaughtering).

more than this should be better discussed under 'evolution and darwinism' Rajio exercises and 'itadakimasu'/'gotisosamadeshita' are for the kids only

Yes...eventually usually the first week of May where I am - I think its the end of May/ beginining of June at the top of Hokkaido(now you can work out where I am from the cherry blossom forecast maps!). We don't have the lovely big bamboo grooves though- just lots of stumpy dwarf bamboo in forests (along with the Ezo bears)

and may be lot of icecreams
My morning was started with getting usable results.
What!
It was a good decision to restart my PhD studies after all.

We don't need the sakura forecast maps to figure out where you are Lost, isn't there only one national university in Hokkaido? I just wonder if the cherry blossoms are as spectacular as in the warmer provinces in the south or if they last longer....and we don't have the Ezo bears...zannen desu (and the decimation continues )

Seriously- are you sure you're not one of "them", how many outside of Japan know about national universities?
I'm not sure our sakura is as impressive as other parts of Japan- Himeji castle, I think our campus is very pretty (we have lots of sakura) and in the mountains you get sudden pink flashes from the wild mountain zakura (deeper pink) which is very pretty too. As to whether it lasts any longer I dunno- about a week of full blossoms probably.
I"m sure you have plenty of other bears in Canada- I nearly met one near Lake Louise once! (kowaii ne.... the massacre continues)
