bet - in the context below:

"I bet it is primer dimers" a guess that is believed to be likely to be true... means you strongly believe or would "stake money" on the fact that it is primer dimers

so bet means a strong guessing, fine, but is it a shortcut for a known word!! like et,e.g....

to 'make a bet' is a slang english way of saying to 'take a gamble'
lol can mean 'laugh out loud' or 'lots of love' and comes from too much texting

'bet' is not just a slang. It can be used formally too. But the way they are used in chit-chats like saying 'I can bet on . . .', ' I bet .. .', 'I'll bet . ..' 'you bet', 'I can bet my life on. . . ', 'My best bet . .' etc are informal use.

' Betcha' is a slang form. It will mean somethig like 'I can bet against you'

Bet for 'between' is not much used but people prefer using 'btn' for 'between'
