running for charity - cancer research (May/30/2009 )
well, i figure it's 21.something Kms, or 13 miles.
it's painful. not during the race, but for the next 3-5 days after. not just the legs, but everything.
it's training for months prior to the race. it's early nights, and early mornings. it isn't like you can wake up one morning and think, "i'll run for 13 miles."
finishing is an achievement in itself.

it wasn't like i woke up one morning and thought about running a marathon, actually it was a fortunate event that was meant to be....
tip: never register for a race after a 10 hour session of statistics.... what i wanted initially was a 10 k race in may in manchester but i ended up in a half marathon in september in newcastle
and the count down begins....
if ii don't get a chance to post before the race:
thank you very much V
I'll do my best
All the best for the run- you should get great support and enjoy the views of running across the bridge!
thanks you lost, and thanks for your sponsorship
have you done the gnr before? sunday is supposed to be cloudy and cool but there will be lots of people ~ 54,000 runners + all the cheering people and at least 5 different bands playing along the road. i think it's going to be awesome!!

Hey, no worries- its all for a good cause and to help give you extra incentive to finish.
I've not done the gnr before- I managed the Race for Life which is 5k. Far enough for me, I think.
I used to live close to Newcastle and its on the TV so I know the route. There should be some great costumes too-its a big day so I'm sure you'll really enjoy it. I guess cloudy and cool is good for running in. All the best, just think you'll have a great excuse for taking it easy next week
