hi V
training is going great ;) I'll try to finish under 2 hours. how's Australia?

-toejam-

Australia is still floating.

we had the brisbane marathon festival the other week (i did a 10k). the very dedicated people who put these things together had changed the dates for the festival from april (which is hot) to august (which is cooler), for the sole reason that it's easier to run in the cooler temp. Unfortunately, we had a heat wave (33'C that day)... . Some poor guys had to be carried across the line, and then straight into the medic tent.

You'll have to post some pics up of the race!! 12 days to go!! best of luck tj.

yikes! i can't imagine running at 33 C... :)
i'll post some pictures after the race. plus, if anyone is interested to watch it, it will be broadcasted on the BBC on the day. 54,000 runners on one single event, this is going to be HUGE!! :) and it is always impressive to hear all the footsteps of so much people, it is almost like the sound of rain.
thanks for your support and your sponsorship!

Oh Goody!!! I love pictures of races. Races in humidity and heat are not fun to be in. At least mine lasted only an hour, I couldn't imagine being out there for 4 hours

I'm actually suprised more people from this forum haven't chipped in a bit for sponsorship...*WINK WINK NUDGE NUDGE* surely people can part with ₤2? :P

I've been watching the triathaolon world series event that's been on lately (going to have the finals on the Gold Coast... so I may actually see that in person) anyway... The one where Alistair Brownlee and his brother were racing (Al won, of course) was in London... it it looks like the weather in that part of the world is perfect for racing.

the weather in england is perfect for racing  and when running in the rain or mist, is just great.
actually a guy i know did this triathlon in London just a couple of weeks ago, maybe it is the same you're refering to.
and about the sponsoring, oh well, anything is good. however, i guess some people (including myself before coming to england) are not aware of how running for charities work and might be a bit skeptical about donating to a cause they're not even related to.
