What is your IQ? - (Mar/04/2009 )
That doesn't even give you an IQ score , but it was pretty fun. Actually that highiq society quiz, if you focus and have no distractions, I think is fairly accurate within a range. I had a Stanford-Binet test as an 8th grader and was 158, at home when I took this test (after my 2 year old son fell asleep) I got 158. However, at work just now I got 127 . Yeah, I'm losing my mind! Actually, according to some story I was reading I am now in range to be President, or highly successful (success meaning rich in the story). It's too bad the really genius people don't become our leaders .

My IQ is 143 ... but I don't think it is accurate.
hmmm.....well, seems like I should consider dropping out of grad-school.....who knows if I'll ever make it with the IQ score I got.....
the best result i got is 121, the lowest is 101 done by random selection, just wondering how to get below 100
That is some terrible website design they had there. I would have thought a real IQ based site would at least have had a nice webpage. Also, that test seemed to me to be fundamentally flawed, the questions were USA based for general knowledge, and pretty much all the rest were spatial/association tests, no testing of other areas such as mathematics, grasp of language, reaction times (pretty hard over the net) etc.
Anyway, 127 just trying to get through as fast as possible.
that's the same thing I was thinking about the other day.....why are all our leaders so dumb?....lol....why not have leaders who can handle many issues at the same time and come up with a faster solution......where are the smart people?
how much do you think GW Bush or Ahmadinejad would score ?

Ah but you must remember our leaders are voted not for intelligence per se. They are voted for based on their public speaking skills, their ability look good for the camera and to saying things the general public wants hear. Also politician tend to come from families which already have political connections even in democratic nations.
A quick Google search I found this old bit of news
Bush received a cumulative score of 77 for his first three years at Yale and a roughly similar average under a non-numerical rating system during his senior year. Bush went to Yale from 1964 to 1968; his highest grades were in anthropology, history, and philosophy, according to The New Yorker article. He received one D in his four years, a 69 in astronomy. Bush has said he was a C student.Boston News
Under Yale's grading system in effect at the time, grades between 90 and 100 equaled an A, 80-89 a B, 70-79 a C, 60 to 69 a D, and anything below that was a failing grade.
It would be interesting to have a president or prime minister who had a PhD in physics, a degree in science.

Politicians should be wise, and that is different from intelligence, smartness or knowledge....
The German Chancellor (Merkel) has a PhD in Physics...but it makes her not a better or worse politician.

i agree leaders should be wise.
One can be intelligent but not wise. However, can one be wise and not intelligent?
I believe intelligence and knowledge must first be acquired before wisdom can be achieved.

And can intelligence be acquired or is it innate or just waiting to be developed?

Intelligence is a combination of both. A good set of genes gives you the potential for great intelligence. Good food, and a conducive environment allows that potential to be realised.
