besides, our most representative Canadian member does not drink beer.
that's a good logic. but may be too much generalisation.
shouldn't you be out walking (and maybe singing) in the rain?
going back to the subject, in some parts of canada people don't lock their houses, so no need to worry about leaving beer out for 5 min
I guess in those countries the sheriff comes and pours the beer away - drinking beer in the public is not allowed.
but the history "fridges" is quite surprising, here in some parts old cellars are still used that keep the foodstuff cool through its construction (normally in mountain regions). Then they were replaced by first isolated cabinets that kept low temperatures with ice blocks that were sold by mobile traders.

That should have the Sheriff arrested for robbing off public. Drinking in public might be crime but why should they bother those who just want their beer chilled by hanging them outside the window?

not in Canada, population density: 9.27 people/sq mile, how much beer could they possibly have?
besides, our most representative Canadian member does not drink beer.
Perhaps we can have Madrius, another representative Canadian member throw light on how we chill this plebeian drink....my guess/recommendation would be to wrap them in real good bubble wrap- about 10 layers..then put them in a small cardboard box, and then put it in another box, this time bigger, and then in another one much bigger than the last one and finally, we stash the whole thing in the trunk of our car but hopefully we didn't forget to lock the door...you'd get a fine if the police discovers that you you have unlocked car doors and if they find you've got been hoarding alcohol in the trunk of your car, then you're really in big, big trouble.....moral of the story- lock your doors- cars and homes....

Was this Canadians-don't lock-their-doors not a rumour started by Michael Moore?

Nope..it's so much simpler than that- TJ started it...
Reality is stranger than fiction - always.

I'm not kidding about the cops giving you a ticket if you leave your car doors unlocked- that's reality...and tj really started it...
cops in Canada (aka RCMP, even tho they're not royal or mount horses) have to take care of other people's belongings. when i left Canada i put a bouquet of flowers in my ex boss's car. she always left it open (and i'm almost certain she still does)
btw michael moore does mention Canadians leave their doors open in one of his documentaries. and BB, reality in Canada is soooo surrealistic
I can imagine how canada is then if someone would actually leave flowers in their boss's car when leaving.
