genius!

Why would someone bother to make fake egg?

Isn't it cheaper to buy a real one than making a fake one? :P

Will you try to make one and eat it?

detectable only because it smelled like chemicals....well easily corrected. It looks real even while cooking.

This is horrible. Ingenious, certainly. Brilliant, undoubtably. But horrible.

From the articles I have googled, these fake eggs are 10 fold cheaper compared to real eggs. Thus their production.

Make and eat one?

Making one would be interesting. Cooking one, certainly. Fried and hardboiled. But eating one is a no.

Minnie, I would not of course want to eat one of them. 'Genius' because it is so near to perfection according to the description with such easy, simple, and cheap steps. It is cheating but still some intelligent and genius mind that succeeded in making this. Had it any good use, this could have been given some award.

In the comments below that article, someone says this was just a student project, not real business. It would make sense if that was true

Looking at it again, the article is an old one. . I googled to see if any reliable news source has mentioned about this - this is such a scary shit that it would alarm the whole world if it were true. . but I have not found any reliable source which mentioned 'Chinese Fake Eggs'.

Is anyone going to try make one?

-Nabi-

I suppose these eggs are "suitable for vegetarians" plus, there's no PETA involvement due to eating baby chickens.
@ BB: if the smell of chemicals comes out only when the eggs are cooked you should be careful if you still put raw eggs on your rice.
cheers.

so true!

But the smell is before the cooking - smell of the mother hen :)
