But the smell is before the cooking - smell of the mother hen :)

no mother hen, no smell -> fake egg :D

There's no Melamine added? Strange.

Ooh, it just reminds me I have a reprint of a 1920 cookbook and there are different ways of checking if the product on the market isn't fake (for example, if there's no flour in the cream, to make it thicker - I guess today's cream with additives would be turned down immediately as a fake... actually half of nowadays mass produced food would).
There are also many ways to keep things edible without the fridge. Eggs kept in the calcium solution, salted butter and such :)
Even in the 50's, the flats had a "cold cuboard" in the kitchen. It was an actual cupboard with a small hole in the wall. On cold days, it acted like a fridge or a freezer :D Mom says (she was a little kid in the 60's, and fridges were just starting to get popular back then) the calcium stored eggs smell horrible and are usable just as an ingredient, not for eating them cooked or fried.

Still in places where there are no fridge, they use different ways to keep things cold. I was particularly impressed by how they kept 'coke' cold when I was trekking long ago - earthen pot with water buried in ground. It was as cold as it should be.

There is even better ways in Russia (and may be in Canada also) - just hang it outside the window

i don't know about Russia, but in Canada you can leave your beer to cool down outside, but don't do it for longer than ~ 8 min, otherwise the bottles freeze and break.

not in Canada, population density: 9.27 people/sq mile, how much beer could they possibly have?
besides, our most representative Canadian member does not drink beer.

that's a good logic. :) but may be too much generalisation.

shouldn't you be out walking (and maybe singing) in the rain? :)
going back to the subject, in some parts of canada people don't lock their houses, so no need to worry about leaving beer out for 5 min

We do things fast here  Went out for a walk - bought two cup ramens (Curtis reminded me), took some photos of raining evening, walked a little more, got a little wet, had an icecream, bought some Gari-gari kun home and here back at my desk putting together some slides.

U seem to be pretty familiar to Canada (& their unusual habits) - Like our Canadian whom we are collecting evidence that she could be 'one of them' - could U be 'one of the another-them' ? (or evolving)
