1. I'm at the BIOMAR, from ULB. :) I don't like waffles, sorry! :P But the cafe Perroque has a wonderful choco cake!

2. The person who has more votes wins... And people can vote one time per valid email.
The festival is every 2 years. It was this year... so now only in 2011! And it only lasts a few days, because the flowers die after that. But it's beautiful, worth to be seen.

Cheers

yup it's every two years...so how long have you been there? But have you at least tried the waffles..they're light and crunchy and you get a face full of white powder after biting into them...:)..I had to google where BIOMAR is...

To Brussels often on business - like mussels and beer on the Gran Platz and generally the food in town. Not so impressed with costs, the climate or sections of city being cemented up.
So what's the political feeling now - three countries?

Yup, the moules always tasted better when eaten at Grand Place....I think most of the buildings (black-faced the lot of them) :) are either being renovated or pulled down...at least the manneken pis is still in one piece...

And don't forget to vote!

You sure seem to know your way around in brussels.
You are from belgium? Worked there or?

Well, brussels isnt that nice. The touristic part is still ok, but once outside that... a lot of dirty streets, unpleasant places, dangerous places...

3 countries?
Well, some want to split yeah, but 2 parts the: flemish and france part ...
Well never happen, I think and hope.
Belgium is allready small enough.

nope, but I've been there a few times..not as nice as the "mother" countries but it still has its own character and charm...(I'm being very diplomatic here) and a bit better than tiny Luxemborg altho the latter is definitely cleaner and more organised

casey casey, you've been all over the globe :)
i can't help saying i'm quite surprised by the fact you (i mean YOU!) talking about plebeian drinks

:P ...have you tried Stella Artois, tj...the strawberry-flavoured one? Really sucks....and I've been visiting here and there but not really everywhere...hope I'd be able to...at least to the Galapagos isles :)..aren't we, the bioforum group, supposed to meet over there?

-casandra-

you mean Früli, yeah i've tried it and i didn't like it, still prefer la maudite
however, i found another one which is quite acceptable called maredsous, give it a try casey, might convince you to change your drinking preferences...

Also: do not be fooled by brussels itself.

Brussel is the capital but is absolutely NOT a good reference about how belgium is.

The french part and dutch part are 2 different worlds and brussels itself is a 3the world on itself.
Brussels is no reference for the rest of belgium on how the cities look etc..
Take for example the belgian coast... or the "mountains", woods in the french part..

and beer? Lol, there are so many beers here... you would need a few years to try them all.
