And made me think to back-up my data.....has been some time since I did this last

Thanks for the great idea - backing up now!
Although it is terribly sad that lots of info and discussions have been lost, I think the best part of this site has always been the members, so hopefully everyone will join back up!
I guess we can be glad that bioforum revived it and didn't gave it up. Must be really annoying to lose such a nice working platform and then to repair it bit by bit. Thanks bioforum

And hopefully it comes back to the old live and some of the data are recovered later. E.g. the quotes

Have fun.

Are you also getting private messages inviting to OTHER sites? First bioforum dies, then that... Smells fishy to me. I'm not into conspiracy theories, but that could be coordinated.
Anyway I've seen another forum (for science fiction and fantasy geeks) survive hacker attack, they lost all messages but quickly came back and it's bigger than ever.

researchgate, for one.
It is true, the avatars are not working. It seems they weren't added to the settings.

Does anybody know what happened? Why it was down? It came rather sudden than announced.....or did I just missed the announcement? I am very happy to see that Bioforum is back up. It's a great resource to meet fellow scientists and for every day lab problems and brainstorming. Anyhow, it's great to see you guys again!
Cheers!
Finally.....it was really tough last week, we were suffering from Bioforum-Down Syndrome...and the withdrawal symptoms were the worst...but we're back....that's good (but I WANT the geek quotes back- we're almost up to 3000 crazy posts over there....that's me the self-absorbed one)...but we can rebuild- that's the most important thing...and we have each other (that's me again- the sappy one
) So let us welcome each other back to the forum........
btw..dr H..we should set a new goal- 1,000,000 geek quotes so we shld get started soon....

Then we have to use Dynasty, General Hospital, The waltons and All My Children as source to have enough quotes...

That's my first complaint about this "new" forum...bring the quotes back and the wacko smiley

And your theory that bioforum now lives in an exotic country with some exotic women around him? Luckily (but perhaps for him unfortunately) not the reality, too
