But some are worse than others, if you cut down an old tree in a primeval forest it's really bad, if you cut it in a working forest, then not especially if you also work sustainable i.e. plant new forest at another site...and using recycled paper...
For me it depends how undisturbed, primeval and susceptible such sites are, and mountain tops belong to such places...and Olympics can be really worse too, Vancouver hopefully not, but the next in Russia (Sochi) will be a disaster for nature...

I know...sustainability is what we should aim for...and tho it hurts me really bad, I actually agree with you about this whole disturbing and destroying of nature for some stupid extreme sports being idiotic..but that is our perspective, I'm sure the adrenaline junkies would disagree.....

I wonder if you can do the same (or feel the same satisfaction) with your biking....

This is called downhill biking....I guess there are many youtube videos, but you need a special bike and equipment for the falls...otherwise speed alone is a nice feeling especially if there's a lot of traffic and the tracks narrow...

Yup that's true, either you freeze because you drive too slow or you don't freeze but fall, because of the ice... should change to a tricycle
