small protein expression in yeast - expression of an 8kD his tagged protein in yeast (Aug/04/2005 )

I am trying to express a his-tagged protein(about 8kD) using the pGAL induction system in yeast (S. cerevisiae). The protein is a truncation of a larger one (51kD). The sequence of the plasmid is good, however I don`t get any expression of this protein. I have 3 clones of the plasmid. I have screened several yeast transformants of each clone. None of them shows me any expression. I am successful at expressing the full-length protein and another truncation (40kD) of the protein using the same pGAL-expression system. Please help.
