Could anyone explain the principle behind the BCA assay?

hi,

principle of BCA assay: it works by the reduction of Cu2+ to Cu+ by proteins in alkaline solutions. Cu+ and bicinchoninic acid for a violet complex(maximum absorption: 562nm). although this assay is not influenced by CHAPS, it is perturbed by reductive substances like DTT and complexing agents like EDTA.
