efficient substitute of the pulse-chase analysis? - (Nov/12/2008 )
hello, i'm not expert about proteins... I try to explain my sistuation: I think that coexpression in CHO cells of a mutated subunit A and the normal subunit B of the receptor AB lead to a reduction in the surface exposure of the AB receptor. I read that a tecnique to demonstrate it is pulse-chase analysis but in our laboratory we can't use radioactivity... What's an efficient substitute of pulse-chase analysis? It's really important for me, thanks!

Stable isotope and mass spec is the best option, though quite expensive. Otherwise you may be able to use some sort of fluorescent labeled aminoacid.
