Western: bands spreading out? - (Oct/31/2008 )

I'm not sure since when , but fairly recently my western blot bands will spread out... they literally push my ladders to the side..., basically i use a 12-16 well comb, and after running i get a 6 well comb sized band....

Has this happened to anyone before? I didn't notice this till recently, so i'm trying to figure out if something expired...

Any ideas?

Hi,

I guess there might be something wrong with the power supply or else have you left any wells unloaded!
I usually fill all the wells, I mean the empty ones also equally with loading dye.
Else it might be something to do with the resolving gel preparation.

Try these if you miss any.
