pUC19 - cut sites (Sep/02/2008 )

Can I use EcoRI to cut out an insert, to be visualized on a gel? I have a map of pUC19, but do not see flanking EcoRI cut sites.

If there are EcoRI sites, you could digest the plasmid with the enzyme and see the fragment on gel. But if there are no sites to digest, then you will not cut out anything.

there is an ecoRI site in pUC19.. if you want it.

I'm talking about cut sites flanking the insert site.
