age of antibodies - (Jul/15/2008 )
This is a complete shot in the dark, but I was wondering if someone could help me out with this. I have three antibodies that I know are at least 2 years old. But they may be a lot older- the people in the lab before me did not record the date on the tubes.
Upstate Anti-phosphotyrosine clone 4G10 cat# 05-321 Lot#32577. It has been stored at 4*C.
Transduction Labs RC20H Anti-PTyr:HRP cat#E120H Lot#40 stored at -20*C
Transduction Labs Anti-PTyr pAb cat#P11230 Lot#19 stored at -20*C
I would like to know if these antibodies are worth using or not. If anyone happens to have one of the specific lots of the antibodies, can you please let me know when you got it? And if anyone has any suggestions on how to find out the age ( I already emailed the companies) I'd be open to investigate those as well. Thanks!

You can call up these two companies on their 1-800 and they would let you know, emails are no good.
Basically, the answer is twofold.
1. Buy again. Raise our bottomline
2. There is no harm in trying. Almost all my antibodies are good, some being from the last century and handled like a street-dog
