Gel destaining - (Mar/27/2008 )

Hi!

When I want to digest protein bands to do mass spec, I'm used to destain the gel pieces with 50% AcCN/50mM ammonium bicarbonate. From time to time I do it o/n and I often vortex the pieces to accelerate destaining. Today I was asking myself whether I can loose proteins if I vortex them. (I use the Bio-Safe Coomassie containing phosphoric acid to stain my gels)
