Yes, I think it is similar! So you would have less problems with German letters than I do with English ones
As I'm a German yes

As I'm a German yes

But I always thought Germans are stubborn and have no sense of humor (at least the ones who come to Austria and want to go skiing but are stuck on the motorways

Was this a sterotype? Could've sworn it was carved in gold!!!

Sterotypes, how I love you! Are making the life a lot easier!
Like all Germans are stuck on the motorway in their big and expensive cars for hours without any sense of humour! And we Austrians are walking by in our "Dirndl" and "Lederhose" on our way to the mountains, jodeling and schuhplatteling....

I will not be messing around with more stereotypes, otherwise I will get no more answers to my question

gebirgsziege. Don't worry about stereotypes bec sometimes they're true...
f.i. we canadians like hockey, beer and snow (in that particular order) and more precisely, we live in igloos
. We don't get offended...bec we're also a very polite, respectful lot. Being teutonians, don't you and dr. hobglobin here have more or less the same degree of sense of humor (or lack thereof)? am not stereotyping here...

Dear Casandra,
never ever dare to compare an Austrian to a German! Doing this at the wrong place you may be beaten up (even if you will have some kind of advantage with your attached hockey stick

But without stereotyping: As far as I know it is quite difficult for Austirans to understand some sorts of German humor...just to mention German carnival (I know lots of Germans don't think its funny as well, but maybe we referre to the expertise of hobglobin here

"...used to be..." is treacherous

That German carnival is funny I always thought this is a myth (never was there), same as 'Oktober Fest', that is arranged by savage mountain people, with "Dirndl" and "Lederhosen" on , yodelling and schuhplattering, and drinking thin beer all the time

What about South American carnival carnaval carioca? Toejam should be the specialist for it. Can imaging him dancing samba with a fancy costume on
