resolving 27 kDa protein - (Mar/13/2008 )

Hello,
I am interesting in probing for GFP which runs at 27kDa. I know I have to use a high % gel to obtain this protein, but I am not sure which % to use. Would a 10% polyacrylamide gel effectively resolve this protein?

10% should be okay. maybe a 12% gel will be better.

10% should be fine, If you are concerned try 10-20 % gel.

Biorad has a map of how protien's of different masses run in different percentage gels.

If u r using 10% make sure u dont run out the dye front ..12% should be better...
