Freezing transformations? - (Jan/24/2008 )

I've read online that its best not to plate transformations fresh - is this true?

Is it best to freeze them overnight (say at -80 C) before use, or will it make a difference if I plate them right after removing them from shaking at 37C?

Plate them as soon as possible. You can store them (with glycerol additon) at -80, but there is no advantage and reduced efficiency.
