Apoptosis - which category in life science? (Nov/25/2007 )
we analyze the role of protein kinases in apoptosis; for a meeting we have to choose a category but which is to prefer?
some suggestions:
cell biology
cell physiology
molecular physiology
molecular pharmacology
any other suggestion, and which fits best?

cell biology will be generally applied
molecular phamacology seems to be better, if your study involves drugs/inhibitors to these kinases.
I agree with genehunter-1. If you are interested more in cell signalling, pathways etc. ,cell biology would be more suitable, i guess. Are doing anything special connected to cell physiology?
i would go with cell biology or may be cell physiology.
Cell bio is probably more applicable
Cell biology is more appropriate.
I agree cell biology
So do I... cell biology
depends which hat you are wearing when you look at it
i'd say cell biology buts thats cos i have a tendancy to look at the biology of the cell

In the early 1980's, we were the first small group in our department to use cells as a model for experimentaion. Our department was Proastaglandin Research which used Animals and Tissues from animals in experimentation........they knew what they were doing in winning a Nobel prize for their discovery of Prostacyclin. We kept going however with our cell reserach and become the second highest citated group in the world of medical/scientific research....... we call ourselves CELLULAR PHARMACOLOGIST'S.
The take home message is it does not matter what category or what you call yourselves... just be sucessful.

P.S please agree with me again "Dominic".
