Protein quantification - (Nov/15/2007 )

Hi!

Does anyone know a cheap but good reagent for protein quantification by photometre?

Cheers Stardust

depending on the range of protein concentration to be determined: bradford (coomassie), bca, lowry, biuret (for high concentrations). all are relatively inexpensive, especially if you make them yourself.

as far as I know you can buy all them commercially. and you can do about 1000 assays with BCA kit and all cost about 600$. 0,6$ for one sample.

If you do microplate assay instead of the regular, it is even cheaper.

Say, $150 for 5000 samples! We do that all the time and the concentration is accurate enough for WB.
