DNA binding proteins - (May/17/2004 )

hi all,

I'm now need one protein that could tightly bind to plasmid DNA. but many DNA-binding proteins only bind to specific DNA sequence. It heard that NLS-containg proteins could bind to DNA by charge interaction, i tried some, none could bind tightly.

thanks

Try commercially available histones from Sigma- these proteins are rather non-specific. Good luck

Also, the beta or alpha subunit of RNA polymerase could be used - pretty high binding constants and entirely non specific without the sigma factor.

Thank you very much!
