PCR of lambda phage - (Oct/08/2007 )

I've been doing a library screen of lambda genomic DNA library. To check to see if my positive clones really contain my insert, I tried to do PCR. However, the PCR for all 10 of my phages failed, although my gDNA positive control worked.

Do I need to treat the phage in some way to liberate the DNA? Maybe Prot. K? We thought that maybe no digestion was required, like if doing PCR from bacteria.

Suggestions/protocols most appreciated!
