identifying genomic DNA contamination during plasmid isolation - (Sep/21/2007 )

i m isolating BAC vector using alkaline lysis method. how to identify whether any genomic DNA contamination in my preparation.

wel it can not be runned on standard gel electrophoresis.

What is the size of your BAC? Can you do a restriction digest and check/resolve the resulting fragments

If you are working on really large BAC (>100kb), you can do a pulse field gel electrophoresis. That should resolve your BAC.

A few details would be helpful.
