Problem in cloning lacZ in pUC18.lac- - ligation (Apr/26/2007 )

Hi Guys,
I want clone complete lacZ in gene in pUC18. For that lac gene of 200bp was removed from pUC18 and religated(2.5Kb). Those clonies are white. Then I want to put 3Kb lac in pUC18. Its a blunt end ligation. After rtansformation I got blue colonies. When I extracted plasmid and ran in gel, I get a band at 2Kb which is strange and some bands at 5.5Kb.
Plz give me valuble suggestions

R u using supercoiled DNA ladder to determine the size of your plasmid and not the normal 1 kb DNA ladder?

I use normal 1Kb ladder.
