Silver staining of crystals - To prove it's a complex between 2 proteins (Mar/17/2007 )

Hi what are the ways to prove that a crystal obtained is a complex between 2 proteins? I recently gotten a crystal and was told to do silver staining...how is it done? Is it a SDS gel as well? Looking for a protocol that teaches how to run a gel with crystal as sample...thanks!

maybe...

dissolve the crystal in water or buffer and run it on a gel (native and/or sds). stain the gel with silver.
