Translation of mRNA in particular tissue - (Jan/31/2007 )
In our lab we can found a gene is transcribed in tissues such as heart through North Blot, but we can`t detect its function as found in other tissues. I wonder if some genes transcribed in some tissues can not be translated? What`s the matter?

With "detect its funtion" do you mean "detect protein"? There're many ways of translational control after gene transcription. Take a look on http://www.nature.com/nrm/journal/v5/n10/a...B5281789CE9044F
