Sterilizing BSA? - (Jan/14/2007 )

Is there a way I can sterilize a BSA solution?
Do you think UV sterilization can be sufficient? If so, for how long?

Thanks in advance

I think you can filter sterile BSA.

I hope this may help.

I thought about that, but won't it stick to the filter?

It will stick if you use pure BSA. If you dilute it, it is possible.

i would heat 10' 37° the BSA solution and then flter it.
The 37° will remove the precipitates. if some remain, they will stick to filter, but i would guess they will remain also on furher applications.
If feasible, diluting also helps to prevent pellet formation.

Thank you everyone, it seems to work fine just by using 0.22µm filters.
I tried to do a spec read before and after filtering and I get the same reading, so I think it's working.

Thanks again
