his-tag protein expression - inoculation of large cultures with plate colonies/ starter cultures vs. glycerol (Nov/30/2006 )

does anyone know if inoculating a large culture (1-2L) for large scale His-tag protein expression with a colony from a plate (or an overnight starter culture) vs. directly from a glycerol stock has an effect on protein overexpression after induction with IPTG?

i never use glycerol stock for protein expression. please streak and inoculate frech colony. good luck!
