Blotting for weekend rather than overnight - What problems could this cause? Will it work? (Nov/30/2006 )
I'm doing a western blot. After the transfer stage, I usually block the membrane (PVDF) in casein solution overnight. Unfortunately, I won't be here tomorrow - if I block it in the fridge till Monday (so 4 nights instead of 1 night), will this be a major problem or is there no such thing as 'too much blocking'?

not mainly to the blot but you have to asure that the blocking solution will not be contaminated by fungi or bacteria, and that it permanently rocks; you may dilute your blocking solution to the half

Thanks Kosmodrom, that's great. I might pop a small amount of azide in to preserve it.
Cheers,
