Blue Native Gel Electrophoresis for membran protein complex - (Jul/19/2006 )

Hi there!

To isolate a membrane protein complex from animal tissue I'd like to try blue native gel electrophoresis.
Is there anybody with some experience and a good protocol?
Is this method applicable for proteins with high molecular mass??

Hi, yes, you can use BN-PAGE for large proteins. I have just now seen that invitrogen offers a ready-gel system for BN-PAGE with everything for sample preparation in it. I would try this kit. I have tried to do it on the normal way, but it takes time to establish....
