Fetal Bovine Serum composition - (Jul/17/2006 )

hello.
could you advise me a couple of links with common description
of commercial FBSs' peptides composition.
thanks.

You may not be able to find this information, as FBS is generally uncharacterized. In addition, lot-to-lot variability in serum composition may preclude the standardized list of serum protein components.

It has too many proteins that it cannot b characterised. And each batch of FBS differs even from the same company. So u can imagine how variable it can be.

Completely agree with scolix

this is why we need it...if it could be completely characterized, they'd make it in a lab and not drain little cows to get it ohmy.gif

"drain little cows" -- laugh.gif very funny.
ok. and what about exact protein: for example, fibrin. can any supplier
be sure that there is no fibrin in some serum.
