strange band - (Mar/19/2006 )

Hi,

Here is a silver stained protein gel, there is a distinct band in the first lane beside marker. But it is so different that unlike ALL other bands it does not cross the whole lane. should I trust it?

It is indeed strange that the fragment is not in the whole lane, I would not trust it until I saw it again when I repeated it. And silver staining stains almost everything, also contaminations and stuff.

it looks really strange.
you should repeat it.
