overall strucure change - amino acid mutation (Mar/11/2006 )

Hi there,

I would to know how to test if an amino acid mutation (even just one) cause a change of the overall strucure protein. I thought about gel filtration but maybe there is also other technics.

for overall structure, RMN or cristallo would be better i think. Gel filtration shows only change of size, and maybe folding, if t's immunocapture. But not the most accurate...
Maybe modelling programs would give you an hypothesis which you would check by exp.
