Restriction enzyme that cut CGCGCG? - (Feb/09/2006 )

Does any one know a company that sells a restriction enzyme that cuts CGCGCG?

Thanks

It is unlikely that there is one. I checked the definitive reference on restriction enzymes at http://rebase.neb.com and it claims there are no enzymes with that recognition sequence.

Hi, I googled your query and found this site: http://www.thelabrat.com/restriction/PauI.shtml

The forward sequence is GCGCGC and reverse of course is CGCGCG - does that help?

hi
you may have an input with the fact that BssH II restriction site partially overlaps the CGCGCG sequence.
In fact, BssH II cuts G CGCGC so it may help.
At time, no enzyme is know for cutting CGCGCG...

Antal kiss wrote in this page that he was looking for such enzyme...
