Calcium homeostasis and protein - relationship between calcium homeostasis and some proteins? (Feb/02/2006 )
Dear All,
First of all, I am not a speciallist in biochemistry. But I need to do something related to this field. I would like to know which proteins which have relationship with calcium homeostasis or calcium metabolism in animal? For example, if there is any protein that its concentration influence calcium metabolism or if calcium concentration affect protein synthesis? In general, I would like to know any relationship between these two.
Thanks a lot for your time and help!
Best regards,
Minhhanh
there are many proteins that use calcium and or their activity changes with calcium (calmodulin - a calcium binding protein; PKC - protein kinase that its activity changes with the binding of calcium and many many more.
some of them you can find in many reviews and papers like the one attached
