proteolytic digests - which enzymes cut where.... (Jan/31/2006 )

hello all, im trying to understand the basis of proteolysis. For example trypsin cuts this amino acid, chymotrypsin cuts that amino acid.....just cant find any good reference of some proteolytic enzymes. Am I too simplyfyin it? unsure.gif ...thanx a lot for any help....

just for starting the discussion :
Trypsin cuts carboxy side of Lys and arginine. Chymotrypsin cuts at Tyr and Phe link)

if you have other specific proteases you can search google by typing "name-of-protease cuts" and you'll find a relevant web page.
i haven't found a summing up table for that yet.
