What media would promote the best E.coli growth at a low cost for fermentation? - (Nov/22/2005 )
The only thing I can suggest is using LB and making the innoculm for the fermentor up from say a litre of cells (say 20 flasks of 50 mL). This way the cells won't need to go through many doublings to get to the density you want.

what are the components of LB?
and also, I cant do that.. I have to grow up the cells in a 200ml shakeflask, then transfer to 9.8L fermenter. 8 hours begin once i innoculate shakeflask

LB is just tryptone, yeast extract and salt. Just grow multiple 200ml Flasks.
