protein isolation - cell pellet (Nov/03/2005 )

I was wondering that for how many days I can leave cell pellet in the -80C refrigerator. I had to leave them in -80C for for 4 days now. Is it bad for the protein that I will isolate?
I am isolating a protein from E. coli.

I have seen other threads on the same topic; you should be fine. We routinely go overnight or over the weekend at -20 with no problems, and the consensus from others on the forum seems to be that -20 or -80, for several days and perhaps longer, is not a problem at all with final protein yield.

I have used samples stored in the -80 C for up to a week. They have not given me too many problems, but I'd be hesitant to store them longer.

Should not be.

I've purified protein from pellet that's been stored for over a year at -80C. I think it may depend on the stablility of your protein. I'm sure 4 days is absolutely fine.
