ligation of short oligos - (Oct/05/2005 )

i am trying to ligate a 8bp to a 7bp oligo using T4 ligase and a 19mer as a template. tried at 4C and at 16C.
in both cases i could not see a molpeak at MALDI for the desired 15mer. are my oligos too short for ligations? if anyone has an idea i would be real greatful!!!

simply order the full oligo
it's not very expensive (about 13us dollars or 10 euros) and will save your time

forgot to mention that i have a modification on the 2nd strand that doesn't allow me to but the full oligo and thus i have to ligate...

what kind of modification?
sigma-genosys allows many ones...
