Suggestion for anti CD44 antibody for WB and IP? - (Aug/29/2013 )

Hello everyone,

I am having issues to find antibodies that work for WB and IP of CD44 in U2oS cells. The contents of CD44 in this cells should be high and I am able to observe it by IF but the antibody we got does not even give a band in WB studies. Does anyone have any suggestion?

Hmmm, there are two options here - either your antibody only recognizes the native form of CD44 (SDS-PAGE gels are denaturing), or the signal you get on the IF is non-specific.  Check the antibody data-sheet, this may give you some indication.

You best bet is to check the literature and see which antibodies people have used.
