MALDI MS resutls to identify proteins - (Jun/06/2013 )

Dear all,

I have MALDI MS results of my 2D gel....Can anyone tell me how to identify the protein using these results. Can any of u give suggestions and software which can help me?

Do you have MALDI MS spectra as the result? Generally the Mass spectrum generated from MALDI is directly submitted to Mascot or protein pilot to get the protien ID. The software matches the spectra with the database and gives you the identity of your protein. But If you don't have this facility then you can find some software on google. Try on expassy protein tools. There you have to submit the spectra and the organism, it will give the ID of your protein. Check the following links-
