preserving bovine serum albumin with sodium azide - (Jun/14/2010 )

Hi ,
I would like to use sodium azide as a preservative for bovine serum albumin. the concentration I am using for BSA is 2mg/ml. so what concentration of sodium azide should I use such that BSA gets preserved?

thanks

the normally used concentration for Na3N is 0.2%, but i always keep my BSA at -20C or just prepare it each time i need.

Hi parado , thanks for that info, would you have any paper or journal where I can reference that concentration used? Thanks

0.2% is very common. You can store at 4C until it becomes cloudy.
