the ChIP agarose gel results - Should the input always be more than the IP one? (May/27/2010 )

Hi, Colleagues,
For the ChIP agarose gel results, should the input always be more than the IP one? Please see the figure.
With my understanding, input group includes the global DNA fragments that are PCRed, but IP group only contains the DNA that bound the target protein of interest, which shoud be less than input group. Thus, the band of input should be biger than the IP group. Am I right?

Thanks a lot. :P

Hi there,

The figure looks good. Thinking that the percentage you use for your input is 5,10 % it could be that you saw less amount in your input

Thank you!
