Paper request forum - direct link (Jun/25/2009 )
Hallo,
could an administrator here make a sticky on the paper request forum saying that when you want an article you need to enter the link to that article (direct or not) so that people can click on it and immediately to see whether they can send the article or not.
Its really irritating to copy the title and look for in google or whatever.
I know it says so above the forum itself, but maybe people dont read that? Or maybe they should highlight it more?
greets
I totally agree....I regulary screen through the requests and provide the articles where I can, but I do not want to search for the articles for ages.
And maybe the paper request section can be linked to "View new posts"?

true, I wonder too why you dont see it in the view new posts, but I think thats because of the fact that you need a certain amount of posts before you can use this forum and maybe thats why they cant show it in the view new post section.
Hi Pito,
Thank you for raising the issue. Actually, in the paper request forum, rule 2 asks posters to give a pubmed link in their post. Probably we need to highlight that.
Cheers,

Yeah, thats what I mean: make it more noticeable.
And maybe it should be possible that the author of the post can close the topic when he received the article?
Because I only tend to check those posts without a reply!
And maybe some of the posts with a reply allready in are not satisfied: maybe they only received 1 article they asked out of the 2 they wanted?
ANd it would also be nice that those posts without a response stay on top!
So they are still there for (newer) members to be checked... maybe somoene will still send the article then.
I do not know it is possible that the creator can close his posts and that this post will be lowered in the "ranking".
Or maybe even switched to another subforum?
Instead of the paper request subforum, there should be 2: paper requested and received and paper requested and still waiting?
Dunno if this makes any sense or it is even possible.
I do remember that I used to be at a forum where you could ask something and when you got an answer you could lock your topic and once every few days the mods would remove the solved questions to the "solved" subforum so that the not solved questions stayed on top and in sight of the people.
Just an idea.
